Poems

I met a man on the streets,
And he asked me for my name,
I replied quickly and then he said,
�Lets play society�s game.
A deal, a deal, I�m sure to make you,
And you�ll walk away a different girl,
For I know your desperate desires,
And things that would make your hair curl.�
�Tell me ,sir, about this deal,
and a bargain we will make,
but I�m sure you couldn�t tell me anything,
that would cause my heart to shake.�
�I�ll sell you the world, I will, I will,
without any nod of guilt,
I�ll sell you the thorns, without the rose,
For what use is a rose that will wilt?
I�ll give you the lies and the cheating scum,
And I�ll throw in a dash of anger and tears,
And while I�m at it,
 I�ll add some extra fears,
Because no man is complete without,
These flaws from an endless hell,
And without these necessaries,
This bargain I cannot sell.�
I thought a bit about his words,
Then stared him in the eye,
For I could see he added none of the things,
That make this world a lie.
�Pair it with stupidity,
and you�ve got yourself a deal,
take away insanity,
and it just ain�t real.�
He nodded at my thoughtful change,
To his almost perfect plan,
And then he handed it all over right quick,
Because he was a foolish man.
He forgot to add love and whatnot,
And happiness that makes the world go round,
So I shoved the bundle back at him,
And left without a sound.

*Note: Yes, this piece is actually something I wrote in... CREATIVE WRITING CLASS! The assignment was to write a letter to someone you know about a place you're in. Mine went a lot deeper then other peoples...

You'd love the sunset here. The reds and yellows blend perfectly with the cloud striped sky. It's as thought a giant finger has reached up and smeared the border between colors, just as I'd watch you do so many times.
   And the way the leaves scatter when the breeze picks up. It makes you want to laugh so the whole world can hear.
   The stream is the perfect temperature. The cool, clear water hides nothing, and you feel the rier rocks allow your bare feet to slide by. And tree frogs seem to smile up at you as you watch tadpoles swim back and forth away from your shadow.
   Sometimes you feel swept away by the salty ocean air. Closing your eyes your eyes, you can almost taste peace. And everyone back home, including you, would love to be here.
   The meadow is filled with gentle horses, and other animals, too. Zebras, giraffes, peacocks. And bear cubs. You can't help but smile as you watch them play. Although these animals are totally different, they get along. 
   It's odd, the way this places makes your thoughts float, comparing here with the place you left behind.
   Not that I minded leaving there, not at all.
   Everyday here is a new adventure. You can live life to it's fullest, yet it's simple.
   You are alone here. No other person in sight. I like it that way. But I'm never lonely, and my voice has no use except to sing into the wind.
   I'd invite you here. But it would be impossible for you to find this place, as it only exists in my head...
